Tarmin Filters™ – Frequently Asked Questions
Switching to an add-on cigarette filter raises a few practical questions. This FAQ covers how Tarmin Filters™ are built, which size to choose, how to use them and where to buy them. It is based on the manufacturer's product information. If you have another question, write to us at contact@imf.com.tr.
1. What is Tarmin Filters™ and how does it work?
Tarmin Filters™ is a disposable add-on filter that fits onto the filter tip of a cigarette. It is a plastic filter tip with a dual-chamber, 2-stage design: the first chamber is designed to trap larger tar particles, and the second stage is a finer filter layer behind it. The tar residue it holds back becomes visible as the filter turns brown. It does not make smoking safe.
2. What cigarette sizes does Tarmin work with?
Tarmin comes in two sizes: Regular (8mm) for standard and king size cigarettes, and Slender+Slim (5–7mm) for slim and slender cigarettes. The packs are TARMIN 300 Slender+Slim, TARMIN 300 Regular and TARMIN 1000 Regular. If your cigarette's filter tip is thinner than 5mm or thicker than 8mm, neither size is made for it.
3. Does Tarmin reduce tar and nicotine?
There are no measured tar or nicotine reduction figures for Tarmin filters, so we do not state any. What you can see is the tar residue that collects in the used filter. A filter does not remove the health risks of smoking; the only way to avoid them is to stop smoking.
4. How do I use Tarmin Filters™ correctly?
Choose the right size, then fit the filter onto the filter tip of your cigarette until it sits firmly — you should feel light resistance, but you should not need force. Light your cigarette and smoke as usual. Afterwards, remove the butt and keep the filter for your next cigarette.
5. Do I need to clean my Tarmin filter?
No. Tarmin filters are disposable and are not meant to be washed or cleaned. Use each filter for up to 6 cigarettes, then throw it away with your household waste.
6. How long does one Tarmin filter last?
Each filter is designed for 4–6 cigarettes. Replace it once it has turned dark brown, or after 6 cigarettes at the latest. At 20 cigarettes a day, that means about 3 to 5 filters a day.
7. What are Tarmin Filters™ made of?
A Tarmin filter is a disposable plastic filter tip. Please keep in mind that no filter material makes smoking safe.
8. Does Tarmin change the taste of my cigarette?
An extra filter in the smoke path can change how a cigarette tastes and how the draw feels. How strongly you notice this is individual. If the draw feels too tight, check that you are using the right size.
9. Where can I buy Tarmin Filters™?
Tarmin Filters™ are sold on Amazon (Amazon.de, Amazon.com and Amazon.fr) — you will find the links on our tarminfilters.com/buy page.
10. What is your return and refund policy?
This website does not sell products directly. Returns and refunds are handled by the marketplace where you bought the product: for Amazon orders, Amazon's return conditions and the seller information shown there apply.
